You could win £2,000 in the run-up to Christmas with the Willow Wood Winter Draw – and around 70p of each £1 ticket will go to support Hospice patients and their families from diagnosis onwards, whether in our Day Services or In-Patient Unit.
Carol Dean’s husband Mick was diagnosed with cancer back in 2019, and was supported by our Day Services before being admitted to the In-Patient Unit for end-of-life care.
Carol said: “The doctors at Willow Wood helped him with pain relief on his very first visit, and then a massage was suggested to help him relax -then I was asked if I wanted a massage too. It’s just wonderful how the family are treated; the whole family is looked after too.
“And when he was admitted for end-of-life care we were all treated with compassion, dignity and support by both staff and volunteers. It’s a special place, full of special people, and I’m really hoping that you can buy some tickets into the Winter Draw and help Willow Wood care for other families in the same way they cared for ours.”
Currently, the Hospice’s costs are £3million per year or £8,219 every single day and it may surprise people to know that only 20% of this is funded. The remainder has to be raised by fundraising - like buying a ticket into our Winter Draw.
Tickets are available in all the Willow Wood shops, at the Hospice reception or you can contact the Lottery department by ringing 0161 330 1133 or emailing email@example.com. And if you can sell tickets to family, friends, customers or colleagues these can be provided on a sale or return basis – there’s no initial outlay.
