Dave's love for Neil Diamond started when he was just a child, singing along to his favourite songs using his sister's hairbrush as a microphone. He would often sing for up to 18 hours a day, only stopping when someone needed to use the bathroom!

In 1992, Dave did his first Neil Diamond karaoke song which caused a mini riot in Mapplewell, Barnsley. From then on, his reputation as a local phenomenon started to grow. Dave appeared in various pubs and bars, adding a dash of comedy to his performances, and the audiences loved him. It was then that he bought a wig and never looked back.
