Latest Hospice shops need you!
Willow Wood has eight very busy town centre shops, which contribute a large proportion of the £7,650 needed every day to support the community of Tameside and Glossop with specialised and loving palliative care.
However, in order to maintain current opening hours, the Hospice urgently requires additional volunteers, both for the stylish shops and for the highly praised Pad café in Stalybridge. Retail Operations Manager Sharon Hodgkiess said, “It was inevitable that not all of our volunteers would return following the lockdown, so we’re looking to expand our team, particularly to cover weekend shifts.
“We have opportunities in both customer facing roles or behind the scenes, and you’ll be working with a very friendly team, whichever role or shop is the best fit for you. We offer training, PPE and can cover travel expenses.
“Most of our volunteers work either 9am-12.30pm or 12.30pm-4pm, but we’re very flexible if you’d prefer to work across the middle of the day or can only make a shorter timeframe. If you’re interested in finding out more just call into your nearest shop for a chat with the manager or other volunteers – you could even try it out for an hour or so before you commit fully. Alternatively apply online here or contact Lisa our volunteer services manager on 0161 330 1100 to find out more.”
