Important Information COVID-19

To keep yourself safe whilst visiting your friend or loved one, please read our advice and rules of visiting.

Due to the current and ongoing coronavirus situation, it is important that we take all reasonable steps to protect the wellbeing of our patients, their visitors, our staff and volunteers. We are closely following the Government advice and will update these points as and when developments happen.

We ask anyone who is feeling unwell, particularly with a high temperature or a new continuous cough, NOT TO VISIT THE HOSPICE.

The In-Patient Unit remains open as normal. Please be aware, prior to any visitors being able to enter the Ward area, they will be required to take a Rapid Covid test. These give results after 30 minutes so please factor this in when planning your visiting times. If visitors are attending the Hospice on consecutive days, a test will be required each day. Willow Wood will supply and instruct you on how to use this test.
We are opening up our visiting on inpatients as per the national guidance. There will be open visiting hours and any person can visit. However we are asking visitors to stagger their visits to reduce numbers of people in the building at any one time. We will allow only two visitors in the small bedrooms at once, four visitors in the larger rooms. Visiting hours are no longer restricted.
Please continue to wear masks in all public areas and in any situation where you are unable to socially distance.
Please ensure you thoroughly wash your hands as soon as you enter the building.
Our Day Services are slowly returning. Although we will continue to support patients via Zoom and phone calls, certain groups including the START Activities Group are now commencing once more at the Hospice. Currently there will be a maximum of six people allowed at any one time.
Our Day Services staff are now able to visit patients at home to assess and support in certain cases.
The Hospice Canteen is currently closed to the public, although patients’ visitors can order food when visiting.
Our town centre shops are now open, as is the Pad cafe. Please check opening hours here.
Our weekly Lottery is still going ahead but there may be a delay in sending out our winners cheques.
Our fundraising events are now resuming - check our events diary here.

Thank you for your support during this challenging time. We couldn't support thousands of local people every year without your help.
