IMPORTANT INFORMATION - COVID-19

Due to the current and ongoing coronavirus situation, it is important that we take all reasonable steps to protect the wellbeing of our patients, their visitors, our staff and volunteers. We are closely following the Government advice and will update these points as and when developments happen.

We ask anyone who is feeling unwell, particularly with a high temperature or a new continuous cough, NOT TO VISIT THE HOSPICE.

CHANGES TO SERVICES

The In-Patient Unit remains open as normal. However, please note that we are now restricting visitor access to the Hospice site. This means that only our In-Patients’ immediate family and friends will be permitted into the building.
We will be allowing only TWO nominated regular visitors per patient and only ONE will be allowed in with each patient at any one time.
Visiting hours are strictly limited to 9am until 5pm only. Whilst we appreciate that this will be very difficult for many families, we must stress that we have not taken these measures lightly and have done so to protect all our patients, staff and visitors.
Please ensure you thoroughly wash your hands as soon as you enter the building.
Our usual Day Services, including drop-in sessions, outpatient appointments and clinics are suspended until further notice. This also includes therapy services, bereavement support and counselling. However, the team will be in touch with all current service users to discuss individual situations and alternative support or advice during this time.
The Hospice Canteen is currently closed to the public, although patients’ visitors can order food when visiting.
We are gradually reopening our shops. At the moment both the Pad and the Grosvenor Street shops in Stalybridge are open, as is the Waterloo shop. Please keep in touch on social media for news of our other shops opening.. However, our online trading activities are still open, and our Distribution Centre on Langham Street, Ashton- under-Lyne, OL7 9AX is open for the donation of boxed and bagged goods and small items of furniture only between 8am to 2pm, Monday to Friday. However, you must book your donation slot prior to attending. Furniture collections have now resumed. Please refer to Our Shops page for full information.
Our weekly Lottery is still going ahead but there may be a delay in sending out our winners cheques.
Certain of our fundraising events have been cancelled or postponed. Please check the website or our social media accounts for the most up to date news on these.
We understand that these changes may cause significant upset and inconvenience. Please be assured that we have not taken these decisions lightly and are prioritising the safety and wellbeing of our patients, service users and our workforce.
