Staff Nurse

Pay scale – £22,128 - £28,746 (Band 5)

Full time, including some night duty

Willow Wood Hospice is an adult hospice providing care for patients with life limiting conditions. We care for these adults by providing symptom control and end of life care. The needs of the patients and their families are at the heart of all we do.

We are seeking a full time staff nurse, primarily on days but will be expected to cover some nights, to assist with the provision of high quality holistic care. You will be responsible for the assessment and care of symptom control needs, including the medicines management of a patient along with providing psychological support for both the patients and their carers.

To apply you will need to be a level 1 registered nurse with a minimum of 1 years post registration experience. You must have some experience of caring for patients with palliative care needs and in the provision of end of life care.

Dementia Nurse for End of Life Care

Salary £26,565 - £35,577 (Pro Rata)

Hours: 30 per week

Due to retirement an opportunity has arisen for a Registered General Nurse or Registered Mental Health Nurse, with experience in Dementia. The purpose of the role is to continue to lead the ongoing development and evaluation of the service. To work with colleagues to continue to augment and improve the care and advance care planning, available to people with dementia, and their families, who are at risk of experiencing difficult symptoms as they approach the end of life.

The post holder will be expected to consolidate relationships across the community and acute trust.

The successful candidate will provide expert dementia advice to Multi-Disciplinary Teams; provide training and education raising dementia awareness. You will have a commitment to change management ensuring high standards are achieved in Dementia care in End of Life.
