Due to retirement an opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Dementia Nurse for End of Life Care.
Willow Wood Hospice is a major provider of end of life care in Tameside and Glossop. As part of our commitment to provide specialist palliative cae we are keen to develop the service we offer to dementia patients and their families.
The main purpose of this role is to provide symptom control advice and support to carers and health care professionals around people dementia who are experiencing difficult symptoms as they approach the end of life. The role will also be working with colleagues to continue to augment and improve the care and advance care planning for those patients and their families.
The successful candidate will continue to lead the ongoing development and evaluation of the service. You will have a commitment to provide training and education to raise dementia awareness and continuously work with the wider professional team in improving the service for patients and families.
The post holder will have excellent clinical knowledge about the management of dementia and will be part of a multi professional service ensuring high standards in the end of life care received by dementia patients.

Bank Staff Nurse
Pay scale – £22,128 (pro-rata)

Willow Wood Hospice is an adult hospice providing care for patients with life limiting conditions. We care for these adults by providing symptom control and end of life care. The needs of the patients and their families are at the heart of all we do.
We are seeking a full time staff nurse, primarily on days but will be expected to cover some nights, to assist with the provision of high quality holistic care. You will be responsible for the assessment and care of symptom control needs, including the medicines management of a patient along with providing psychological support for both the patients and their carers.
To apply you will need to be a level 1 registered nurse with a minimum of 1 years post registration experience. You must have some experience of caring for patients with palliative care needs and in the provision of end of life care.
