The Big Bike Ride - Can you Volunteer to Marshal?

The Big Bike Ride is attracting a lot of attention already, and it looks like this sponsored cycle event on Sunday 21 May will be very well supported. With several hundred cyclists expected to be riding one or other of the three challenging routes, Willow Wood have need of volunteer help on the day.

One very important role is that of a marshal.Although there will be plenty of signage along the route, volunteer marshals are needed to point the cyclists in the right direction, particularly at busy junctions or where the longer route diverges from the shorter.Help is also needed at the start of the Big Bike Ride – to assist with setting up, signing the cyclists in, handing out the race numbers and again at the end to check everyone back in, hand out their certificates and pack up!

If you feel you could support Willow Wood in this way, we would be very grateful. For more information on what help is needed please ring Dot on 0161 330 7788 or email And if you’d like to join the Big Bike Ride just type into your search engine to register online and to set up your fundraising page.
